Christmas Here We Come!

Published by Santa Claus on

Ho! Ho! Ho! Welcome back boys and girls, I’m thrilled you have decided to read my merry ramblings again. I love sharing all the magical goings-on in the North Pole with you, and of course it’s always fun writing about the most wonderful day of the year!  What’s that George? Your birthday? Well, of course your birthday is a very special day but I’m talking about….. Christmas!   Oh, I heard quite a few of you shout out there – well done Simone, Carly, Reiko, Harry, Flynn and Cormac. Why don’t we shout it out again….CHRISTMAAAAS!

Now that was fun and guess what, we only have 54 days to go. Don’t groan Roisin and Emily– it really isn’t that far away. Besides the elves and I need more time to finish our work and get organized. We got off to a bit of a slow start this year too! Once we had delivered the final presents to the wonderful children of Juneau, Alaska, the elves, reindeer, Mrs. Claus and I flew back to the other side of the world for a 3-week holiday in the Australian sun. Did you know that at this time of the year, it is summer in Australia! Isn’t that amazing? We all got a great kick out of it especially Dasher who was very excited about snorkelling and trying out the new flippers he got on Christmas morning. Have you ever seen a reindeer swim? It’s quite a sight indeed especially when they wear bright red speedos, Ho! Ho! Ho!

One day, while I was sunning myself on the beach some of the elves let the ‘Cloaking Spell of Maximum Invisibility’ slip and for a brief moment I was exposed. It would have been okay had a family, out walking off their Christmas dinner, not spotted me. Oh, don’t worry they didn’t realize they were looking at Santa, they thought I was beached humpback whale, and they called sea rescue. There was nothing I could do. They kept chucking buckets of water over me while patting my tummy. Eventually sea rescue came and hauled me out into the ocean! I’m not the greatest swimmer, but luckily Dasher was on hand to lead me back to shore where Mrs. C, the rest of the reindeer and all the elves were giggling like mad! Well, it was pretty funny, but now the missus has insisted I go on a diet.

In any case we felt we deserved a bit of a rest, but now we have some serious catching up to do if we are to get all the toys ready in time. A brand new wing has been built at the Magical Workshop and Toy Repository, where elves with a flair for science and a love of candy can experiment with new sweeties and confections. They are still in the early stages of development, so you most likely won’t see any of their products till next Christmas, but I’m sure it will be worth the wait. Did you know elves don’t have a sweet tooth? They have sweet teeth! I will pop in over the next few weeks to see how they are getting on and maybe to sample a treat or two….or three!

I am so proud of all the elves. They are working round the clock to ensure we meet our daily toy production quotas. That is 13,875 192 toys every single day!!! Well, I guess I better sign off now as I can hear the missus calling me for dinner. After that I may have a long soak in the tub!

Have a great day and I’ll be back with more exciting news about how we will make sure you have the best Christmas ever. Right…let’s shout it out one more time – CHRISTMAAAAAAAS! Ho! Ho! Ho!  Maxime, Enrico and Julie you guys really gave it some – well done!

Speak soon. Be good.
